About Us
We are OSINT for Ukraine, an independent non-profit foundation dedicated to using open-source intelligence (OSINT) to investigate international criminal, humanitarian, and human rights law violations. Our mission is to uncover war crimes and crimes against civilians in Ukraine and provide critical information that supports justice and accountability. We are seeking an experienced Project Manager to join our R&D team. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing software development and OSINT-related projects from concept to completion, using various project management methodologies (Agile, Kanban, Waterfall). You will collaborate closely with developers, analysts, and other stakeholders to ensure that high-impact research and development initiatives are delivered efficiently, on time, and aligned with our organizational mission.

Key Responsibilities
Project Planning & Execution
Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of R&D projects using appropriate methodologies (Agile, Kanban, Waterfall).
Define project scope, objectives, and deliverables that support organizational goals in collaboration with senior management and stakeholders.
Create and maintain project roadmaps, timelines, and documentation.
Agile & Kanban Facilitation
Implement and manage Agile ceremonies (daily stand-ups, sprint planning, retrospectives) to foster collaboration and continuous improvement.
Set up and maintain Kanban boards to visualize project progress and identify bottlenecks.
Waterfall Methodology
Apply Waterfall principles where appropriate, especially for projects with clearly defined requirements and milestones.
Ensure timely delivery of each project phase and conduct proper documentation reviews and sign-offs.
Software Development Oversight
Collaborate with the development team to define technical requirements and user stories.
Ensure coding standards, best practices, and quality checks are followed throughout the project lifecycle.
Coordinate with quality assurance to maintain rigorous testing and validation protocols.
OSINT Tools & Techniques Stay informed about the latest OSINT methodologies, tools, and best practices.
Work with the R&D team to integrate OSINT tools into ongoing software development projects.
Assist in identifying innovative solutions that enhance data gathering and analysis capabilities.
Ticket Writing & Management
Collaborate with team members to translate project requirements into clear, actionable tasks and user stories.
Maintain and prioritize the product backlog, ensuring all tickets are accurately documented and aligned with project objectives.
Stakeholder Engagement Regularly communicate project status, risks, and opportunities to internal and external stakeholders.
Facilitate cross-functional collaboration with developers, analysts, researchers, and other departments.
Continuous Improvement
Monitor and report on project metrics (velocity, quality, budget, etc.) and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Advocate for process improvements and champion a culture of learning within the team.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Project Management, or a related field.
Project Management Proficiency
Proven track record managing projects using Agile, Kanban, and Waterfall methodologies. Certification in Agile (Scrum Master, Product Owner) or PMP/Prince2 is a plus.
Technical Skills
Proficiency in software development processes and familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git). Experience writing user stories, tasks, and managing ticketing systems (e.g., Jira, Trello).
OSINT Interest
Genuine interest in OSINT tools and techniques and their application in humanitarian or conflict-resolution contexts. Knowledge of research and data analysis methods is a strong advantage.
Soft Skills
Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills. Strong organizational and time-management skills; able to prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously. Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional, multidisciplinary teams.
Languages
Fluency in English (written and spoken) is required. Knowledge of Russian or Ukrainian is an asset but not mandatory.
