OSINT Specialist

(Pro-Bono position)

About Us

We are a mission-driven team of investigators, analysts, lawyers, and technologists who

volunteer our time to lead impactful investigations, develop open source tools and train others

to empower them to do the same. OSINT for Ukraine uses OSINT to investigate international

crimes, combat disinformation, and support justice and civil society.

Role Overview

As our OSINT Specialist, you will work closely with the Education Department to make

open-source intelligence accessible to learners worldwide. Your mission is to transform

OSINT theory and techniques into practical educational content that enables others to

conduct ethical open-source research and investigations. You will help build our educational

programs and grow a skilled community of OSINT practitioners committed to truth,

accountability, and justice.

The ideal candidate has hands-on OSINT experience, a passion for teaching, and believes in

our mission.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and produce training materials, workshops, and courses on OSINT techniques and methodologies.

  • Develop hands-on exercises, case studies, and assessment tools for learners at various kill levels.

  • Carry out OSINT research and investigations for educational purposes.

  • Stay current with emerging OSINT tools, techniques, and best practices to keep educational content relevant.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of practical OSINT experience (professional, academic, or independent research).

  • Proficiency in core OSINT techniques and research (e.g. reverse image search, social media intelligence, geolocation, advanced search queries, and data verification).

  • Familiarity with common OSINT tools and platforms.

  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain technical concepts clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently in a remote, volunteer-driven environment.

  • Commitment of approximately 8-10 hours per week.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous experience creating educational content, training materials, or teaching.

  • Background in intelligence/law enforcement/security, cybersecurity, journalism, research, or related fields.

  • Content creation skills (visual design).

  • Active participation in OSINT communities.
