Position Overview
The Chief Communications Officer & Head of Public Affairs is responsible for shaping, managing, and executing OSINT For Ukraine’s external communication strategy. This role acts as the primary bridge between OFU and the public, partners, and external organizations, ensuring that the organization’s investigations, values, and impact are communicated clearly, accurately, and strategically in the online sphere.
The role combines strategic leadership, content direction, coordination, and operational management of the Public Affairs (PA) Department.
Core Responsibilities
1. Strategic Communications & Positioning
Design and implement OFU’s overall communication strategy across platforms (primarily LinkedIn and Instagram).
Translate investigations and OSINT findings into clear, accessible, and engaging narratives.
Ensure consistent organizational voice, tone, and messaging aligned with OFU’s mission.
Identify opportunities to increase visibility, credibility, and audience growth.
2. Public Affairs Department Leadership
Lead and manage the Public Affairs Department, including:
Content creators
Video editors
Interns
Organize and chair regular department meetings to:
Align on ongoing investigations
Plan upcoming content
Review performance and outputs
Provide guidance, feedback, and direction to ensure high-quality deliverables.
3. Content Strategy & Production Oversight
Develop and manage multi-platform content calendars based on:
Investigations
Publications
Events and workshops
Oversee production of:
Social media posts
Reels and video content
Campaign materials
Edit and fact-check all outgoing content to ensure:
Accuracy
Clarity and accessibility
Alignment with OFU standards
4. Campaign Development & Execution
Plan and execute digital communication campaigns (e.g., workshops, investigations, awareness initiatives).
Optimize campaigns for:
Engagement
Reach
Conversion (e.g., event participation)
Adapt messaging to platform-specific dynamics (e.g., LinkedIn vs Instagram).
5. External Relations & Partnerships
Initiate and manage collaborative content and campaigns (e.g., co-posts, joint investigations).
Coordinate meetings with external organizations (e.g., NGOs like ABBA) for:
Joint projects
Content collaboration
Strategic alignment
6. Internal Coordination & Cross-Department Collaboration
Schedule and lead meetings with internal departments to:
Align communication with investigations
Identify publishable outputs
Plan strategic releases
Ensure that research outputs are translated into public-facing content effectively.
Serve as the communication bridge between analysts/investigators and the public.
7. Analytics & Performance Monitoring
Monitor and evaluate performance across platforms (LinkedIn, Instagram), including:
Engagement rates
Reach and impressions
Audience growth
Use insights to:
Refine content strategy
Improve campaign performance
Guide future communication decisions
8. Operational & Planning Responsibilities
Maintain structured workflows for:
Content production
Publishing schedules
Campaign timelines
Ensure timely delivery of content aligned with:
Investigations
Events
Organizational priorities
